The Breece Hill Information Storage and Retrieval Architecture (iStoRATM)
is designed to deliver a seamless integration of removable storage, NAS
technology, and management software, to meet the needs of Small-to-Medium-Business
(SMB) Customers for data replication, backup, archiving, and recovery.
THe iStoRA 4000 series integrates up to 1.5 TB of Serial-ATA disk; up to 3 TB of uncompressed removable tape storage in a 1x10 autoloader; and an Intel server motherboard with Gigabit-Ethernet connectivity; all in single easy-to-deploy 4u-high rackmountable enclosure.
Each appliance ships pre-loaded with software to manage file replication from external clients and file migration between disk and tape.

Designed and developed for small and midsized network environments, the StorageCab
4000 NAS solution from Tandberg Data integrates smoothly into the topology of
existing networks. Compact form and high data storage density characterize this
new generation of NAS systems. The application areas of the StorageCab 4000 series
range from primary data storage, snapshot backups to the extensive disk-to-disk-to-tape
concept (StorageCab 4000S).

The Tandberg StorageCab 4000 is your choice for fastest backup and restore. It offers up to 1.6TB disk capacity and contains up to 4 hot swap serial ATA hard drives. Adding up to 1.6TB of network storage has never been so easy.

The new Tandberg StorageCab solutions are developed and designed to be used as a central mass storage system in small and medium sized network environments. StorageCab solutions are integrated as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) system into the topology of an existing network.
Two 10/100/1000 Mbit ethernet-interfaces are available for the network. The system utilizes the TCP/IP-protocol and can be easily integrated into Windows-, or Unix/Linux based platforms.
The Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) support enables connectivity to IP targets and IP SANs. Administration is made easy via a web browser, including monitoring and configuration.
The StorageCab 4000 solution contains up to four hot swappable serial ATA hard disks.
This rackmountable unit fits in just 1U with the robust mechanical design and the high-quality components contribute to the operating reliability as well as the monitoring of the individual components and the internal operating temperature. Using the VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Services) feature of Shared Folders, deleted or corrupted files can be restored within minutes, instead of the hours it can take to restore from tape. Built on VSS, this feature can store up to 64 point-in-time copies per volume and allows end users to recover previous versions of files.
StorageCab4000 can be also used as a Network Backup Appliance (NBA) using optional Veritas Backup software with the internal HDD. Data contents on other servers or other StorageCab4000S can be backed up to the HDD volume of the NBA for faster backup. Dual onboard NICS can be used to streamline network traffic for I/O requests by both clients or backup.
With the optional SCSI controller (StorageCab 4000S) a tape drive, autoloader or library can be directly connected to the NBA to enable migration of the disk based backup volume to tape for offsite storage or vaulting without negatively affecting file serving operations.
Tandberg's line of tape backup solutions provides a single point of contact for technical support of StorageCab hardware and software and tape components. A three year parts and labour warranty with advance exchange is backed by free technical support. Optional onsite service for up to 3 years is also available.
